All four UMass undergraduate campuses are rated in the top category of U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges rankings, making UMass one of the few university systems in the nation to have each campus so acclaimed.

- UMass faculty include a Nobel Laureate, Pulitzer Prize winners, Breakthrough Prize winners, members of national academies, and Fulbright, Guggenheim, MacArthur, and Mellon Fellows.
Online programs at UMass are among the best in the nation and are the top programs in New England. Bachelor's programs at UMass Amherst (#20), UMass Lowell (#28), and UMass Boston (#50) were ranked as the top three programs in New England, and were all among the top 50 nationally in U.S. News & World Report's Best Online Programs rankings.
UMass has630,000 alumniaround the world, including360,000who are living, working, and leading companies and organizations throughout Massachusetts, making it the largest alumni network in New England.
UMass is the third-largest research enterprise in Massachusetts and the fourth-largest in New England, behind only Harvard, MIT, and Yale, with a record $813 million in annual research and development.
UMass and its campuses are responsible for$8.3 billion in overall economic impact across Massachusetts.
